zafos The West Pomeranian Forum of Social Organizations ZaFOS is a voluntary community of social organizations operating in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It has existed since 2001. Initially, it was established by 6 significant organizations dealing with broadly understood social assistance, including the Society of Friends of Children, the Polish Society for Combating Disability, the National Autism Society. Today, the Forum's members include over 90 non-governmental organizations from the region.

The aim of the Forum is to create a comprehensive platform for cooperation with a greater impact than operating alone. We work according to the motto: TOGETHER WE MEAN MORE. And it is by joining forces in creating various coalitions that we support the statutory activities of our members. We work for the activation and reintegration of socially excluded people, dysfunctional people, people at risk of losing their jobs or who are unemployed, discriminated against, disabled and elderly people, and the homeless. We support the dissemination of modern educational techniques, because strengthening children and youth is a priority task for us. We pay special attention to disadvantaged youth. We support economic development by stimulating entrepreneurship, we support scientific and economic initiatives serving technological progress, environmental protection and the development of technology.

Actively operating, we organize volunteering in social matters, conferences popularizing social problems and institutional fairs, thanks to which we connect those in need. A permanent element of our work are trainings strengthening "hard", professional qualifications, but also "soft" skills related to strengthening self-esteem.

ZaFOS is part of the nationwide federation "WRZOS" - Working Community of Associations of Social Organizations. "WRZOS" consists of 12 regional associations and 3 nationwide headquarters. ZaFOS is a member of the Nadodrzański Cluster of Social Economy, alongside such institutions as: Karkonosze Regional Assembly of Disabled People, Lubuskie Regional Assembly of Disabled People, Union of Lubuskie Local Government Organizations. Recently, ZaFOS was the initiator of the establishment of the West Pomeranian Regional Assembly of Disabled People, which included: Association of Users of Psychiatric Health Care and Their Families and Friends "FENIKS" Kołobrzeg, Polish Society for Combating Disability, Szczecin Branch. ZaFOS is a founding member of the National Regional Assembly of Disabled People in Warsaw. ZaFOS focuses on cross-border cooperation, constantly cooperating with social organizations from neighboring countries.
